What humidity is right for guinea pigs?

Short answer: about 40–60% is most comfortable; use a dehumidifier in humid seasons.

1. Reference range — 18–26°C and 40–60% humidity; keep a hygrometer near the cage.

2. Too damp — bedding moulds faster and feet can become sore, so change bedding more often.

3. Dehumidifying — run a dehumidifier or AC dry mode without airflow hitting the cage.

4. Ventilation — do not push the cage into corners or cabinets.

5. Hot and humid — above 28°C with high humidity, watch closely for heat stress.
