Do guinea pigs have wet dreams? White discharge and boar hygiene

Short answer: not in the human sense, but mature boars naturally release a whitish, rubbery secretion (a copulatory plug). This is normal.

1. What the plug is — boars have large seminal glands; when relaxed, asleep or grooming they may pass a small white, slightly elastic lump that owners often mistake for something foreign.

2. Self-grooming — boars bend to clean their genitals; secretions during grooming are normal.

3. Perineal sac hygiene — the sac collects oil, hair and bedding; check gently every 1–2 months and wipe with a cotton bud dampened in warm water.

4. When to see a vet — a stuck plug, redness, swelling, a penis that will not retract, blood in urine or a bad smell all warrant a prompt visit to an exotic-animal vet.
